Many countries like Canada, Austria, the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Finland, Israel, and Italy have already legalized the use of medical marijuana or cannabis for therapeutic purposes only. However, before a patient can use medical marijuana, one must first get an identification card. Eligible patients must have a chronic or life threatening disease in order to be qualified for the treatment. Remember that not all diseases may indicate the use of medical marijuana. The patient should have a written recommendation from a licensed medical doctor. The doctor should include the reasons for the treatment and must also affix his or her signature. Once your documents are complete, you may now apply for a medical identification card in a state-specified department.
A lot of debates are still ongoing regarding the legalization of the medical marijuana in Arizona most especially about driving under the influence of the drug. Law-makers fear that the identification card holders may violate and exploit the opportunity given to them and might use medical marijuana aside from the medical purpose allowed by the law. This issue must be resolved and clarified immediately by the law-makers. Medical marijuana if used properly is proven to be advantageous but if abused, cannabis can be detrimental.
Moreover, in setting up a medical marijuana dispensary business, their registration should be non profit. Other states such as dispensaries in Colorado may not do so. Legal documents should also be presented upon application. Medical dispensaries should only distribute cannabis to qualified patients that posses a medical marijuana identification card and to registered caregivers. Otherwise, if not properly followed, then distribution of medical marijuana is considered illegal and may be punishable by law if proven guilty. Also, Dispensaries in Colorado as well as some states does not accept identification cards for marijuana use from other states. Be sure to use medical marijuana only within the state parameters.
